Boston, MA – A warm-up is on the way for much of southern New England, with widespread 70-degree temperatures expected by Tuesday afternoon following a mild, sunny Monday. Areas from Cape Cod to western Massachusetts will see the warmest readings of the season so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, Monday will remain calm and sunny with light north to southeast winds shifting by late morning. Highs today will top out in the low to mid 60s across interior areas like Worcester, Springfield, and Lowell, with cooler conditions near the coast. A brief round of showers is expected overnight, but conditions will dry out quickly on Tuesday.
By midday Tuesday, inland cities such as Hartford, Providence, and Greenfield are forecast to hit the low to mid 70s. Boston is expected to reach 70°F by 3 p.m., while coastal areas like Hyannis and Gloucester stay cooler in the upper 50s to low 60s due to onshore flow.
Residents are encouraged to take advantage of the unseasonably warm weather Tuesday, but keep an eye on changing conditions later this week. Cooler temperatures are expected to return by Wednesday evening.
