Boston, MA – After a stretch of 70-degree sunshine, New England is heading into a cooler weekend, with daytime highs dipping into the 60s across most of Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Rhode Island by Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, cities like Lowell, Providence, and Hartford will see highs of just 64°F to 67°F on Saturday and Sunday, with early morning lows dropping into the 50s — and even upper 40s in the Berkshires. Monday morning may feel particularly brisk in western Massachusetts, where Pittsfield is expected to bottom out at 47°F.

In Boston, temperatures will slide from Friday’s 75°F high down to 66°F on Saturday. Cape Cod and the Islands will remain slightly milder but still cooler than recent days, with Hyannis and Nantucket stuck in the low 60s through Sunday.

The cooldown won’t last long. By Wednesday, much of the region will rebound into the upper 70s and low 80s. Hartford, Springfield, and New Haven are all forecast to top 80°F by midweek, signaling the return of early-summer heat.

Keep jackets handy through Monday, especially for early errands or commutes. A warmer pattern begins building Tuesday — and more 80s are likely by Thursday across southern New England.
