Boston, MA – New England is preparing for the coldest night of November as temperatures tumble into the teens and 20s across the region Monday night, November 10, into Tuesday morning, November 11. According to the NOAA Weather Prediction Center, clear skies and brisk northwest winds will set the stage for a deep early-season freeze stretching from Maine to Connecticut.

Forecast lows include 15°F in Caribou, Maine, 18°F in Burlington, Vermont, 20°F in Concord, New Hampshire, 22°F in Springfield, Massachusetts, 24°F in Providence, Rhode Island, and 26°F in Hartford, Connecticut. Even coastal cities such as Portland and Boston are expected to dip into the upper-20s, with wind chills making it feel closer to the teens overnight.

The National Weather Service offices in Gray, Burlington, and Boston have issued widespread frost and freeze warnings, marking the end of the growing season for nearly all of New England. The night’s chill follows a stretch of unseasonably mild weather, with temperatures now running more than 20 degrees below normal.

Northwest winds of 20–30 mph Monday evening will add bite to the air, while clearing skies overnight allow for rapid cooling. Forecasters say wind chills may fall into the single digits across northern New Hampshire and western Maine.

The Weather Prediction Center’s Hazards Outlook places New England within the northeastern edge of the nation’s massive “Frost/Freeze” corridor — part of a coast-to-coast cold wave reaching the Gulf Coast.

Tuesday’s highs will remain chilly, reaching only the 30s north and low-40s south before a slight midweek rebound.
