Boston, MA – A cool and dry Sunday will give way to a warming trend across Massachusetts early this week, with highs peaking in the low 80s by Tuesday before rain chances return midweek.

According to the National Weather Service Boston, temperatures will rise steadily from the upper 60s Sunday to the mid-70s Monday. By Tuesday, inland cities including Hartford, New Haven, and Springfield could see highs between 80 and 82 degrees, while coastal areas remain slightly cooler.

Forecasters say the stretch of dry weather ends late Tuesday. The chance for showers and thunderstorms increases Tuesday night into Wednesday, with rain probabilities ranging from 40% to 55% across much of Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut.

On Wednesday, highs are expected to drop back into the upper 60s and low 70s with scattered rainfall. Areas such as Worcester, Providence, and Boston face a 50–55% chance of showers through the morning, tapering slightly into the afternoon.

Travelers and commuters should prepare for potentially slower midweek drives due to wet roads and reduced visibility. The unsettled pattern may linger into late Wednesday before conditions gradually improve.
