Boston, Massachusetts – A sharp temperature swing is set to impact southern New England within the next 48 hours, bringing chilly rain Thursday before a rapid warm-up pushes temperatures into the 60s and even mid-70s by Saturday.
According to the National Weather Service in Boston, temperatures Thursday will struggle in the low 40s across much of the region, including Boston, Providence, and Hartford, with steady rain adding to raw conditions during the day.
By Friday, conditions improve quickly. Boston is expected to climb to around 61 degrees, while Providence reaches near 59 degrees and Hartford jumps to the mid-60s. Skies begin to clear, setting the stage for a much warmer finish to the week.
The biggest shift arrives Saturday, when temperatures surge even higher. Hartford could reach 75 degrees, with Boston and Worcester climbing into the low to mid-60s under partly sunny skies.
The rapid change may impact daily routines, especially for commuters dealing with wet roads Thursday followed by increased outdoor activity over the weekend.
Residents should prepare for fluctuating conditions and dress in layers as temperatures swing dramatically through Saturday. Additional updates may follow if rain lingers longer into Friday morning.
