Boston, Massachusetts – 36°F daytime highs are keeping roads and outdoor conditions cold through Saturday evening, as below-normal temperatures settle across Massachusetts and impact travel and outdoor activity. The persistent chill, combined with occasional cloud cover, will limit warming throughout the day.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, most of Massachusetts will see highs remain in the mid to upper 30s, with slightly warmer readings near 40 to 42°F in the Connecticut River Valley and parts of southern Rhode Island. Despite dry conditions, the lack of sunshine at times will prevent temperatures from rebounding.

The coldest conditions are expected across central and northern Massachusetts, including Worcester, Fitchburg, and Lowell, where highs may struggle to reach the upper 30s. In Boston, Plymouth, and along the Interstate 95 corridor, temperatures will hover in the mid-30s, keeping surfaces cool and limiting snowmelt from any shaded areas.

While no major precipitation is expected, the chilly air could still impact outdoor plans and increase heating demand. Drivers should remain aware of colder road surfaces early and late in the day, especially on bridges and overpasses.

Temperatures will begin a gradual warming trend by Sunday and into early next week, but below-normal conditions will dominate through tonight before milder air returns.
