Boston, Massachusetts – A stretch of chilly air is settling across Massachusetts today, with temperatures dropping into the 20s overnight and keeping the weekend feeling more like late winter than early spring.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, highs Friday will reach the mid-40s across much of the state, including Boston, Worcester, and Springfield. Overnight lows will fall sharply into the upper 20s to low 30s, with colder pockets dipping into the 20s, especially inland.

Saturday will be the coldest day of the stretch, with highs struggling in the 30s to near 40 degrees under mostly dry skies. Breezy conditions could make it feel even cooler, particularly along coastal areas and higher elevations.

By Sunday, temperatures begin to recover, climbing into the 40s and low 50s statewide. Cities along I-90 and I-95 corridors will see improving conditions, though mornings will remain chilly.

Despite the temperature swings, dry weather will dominate through the weekend, limiting travel impacts.

A stronger warmup arrives early next week, with highs pushing into the 50s and 60s as more spring-like conditions return to southern New England.
