Boston, MA – Southern New England skies will start mostly clear tonight, but clouds will increase along the south coast, signaling a midweek change. Temperatures overnight will hold mild, dipping only to the low 60s inland and low 70s along the coast.

According to the National Weather Service in Boston, the chance for showers and thunderstorms builds by Wednesday afternoon and evening, with the most widespread activity expected Wednesday night into Thursday. Some storms may produce heavy downpours and gusty winds, which could lead to brief street flooding in poor drainage areas.

Temperatures Wednesday will rise into the low 80s to near 90°F with high humidity, making the air feel muggy ahead of the storms. Thursday stays warm, with highs in the upper 70s to upper 80s, and scattered showers and storms continuing through the day before clearing begins late Thursday night.

Residents are advised to monitor for any weather alerts, secure outdoor items, and allow extra travel time during downpours.
