Nevada – The Las Vegas Valley greets the morning under soft, high clouds glowing faintly pink above the desert peaks — the calm before a busy Thanksgiving travel day begins. The air is crisp but comfortable, the kind of dry November air that reminds locals the desert cool season is near.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, Thanksgiving travelers can expect ideal road and air conditions this week. Skies remain mostly clear with highs near 69°F on Thanksgiving Day, and winds stay light across major routes like I-15 and U.S. 95. It’s the kind of weather made for patio dining, hiking at Red Rock Canyon, or last-minute grocery runs without breaking a sweat.

Friday holds steady with more sunshine and highs near 69°F, perfect for Black Friday shoppers and visitors hitting the Strip. But changes begin to build in the background as cooler Pacific air drifts inland.

By Saturday night into Sunday, temperatures will dip into the low 40s, and scattered showers could brush higher elevations west of the valley. It won’t bring major rain, but the shift signals the approaching early-December cool-down expected across much of the Southwest.

Long-range models show a stronger Arctic front sliding south after December 1, possibly ushering in the first notable cold snap of the season for the region. While no freezing temperatures are forecast yet for Las Vegas, travelers heading north after the holiday could encounter frost and snow across the Sierra and Intermountain West.

For now, though, Las Vegas remains a late-autumn oasis — sunny skies, warm afternoons, and a smooth stretch for Thanksgiving travel before winter hints arrive next week.
