LAS VEGAS, Nev. – Residents of southern Nevada are bracing for gusty desert winds and a slight chance of showers Tuesday as a Wind Advisory takes effect across the region. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas warns that south winds of 20 to 30 mph — with gusts up to 45 mph — could impact much of Clark County and parts of the Mojave Desert through Tuesday evening.
The advisory covers Las Vegas, Henderson, Boulder City, and the surrounding desert communities from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday. Drivers, particularly those operating high-profile vehicles along I-15 and U.S. 95, should prepare for challenging crosswinds and areas of blowing dust reducing visibility at times.
In Las Vegas itself, skies will turn partly cloudy Tuesday afternoon as winds increase. A few isolated showers or thunderstorms may develop during the late afternoon or evening before clearing overnight. Highs will top out around 75°F, followed by a dip into the upper 50s Tuesday night.
The rest of the week looks much calmer and drier. Sunshine returns Wednesday through the weekend with light winds and highs steadily rising back into the mid- to upper-70s — ideal weather for outdoor events and travel.
