Reno, NV – Northern Nevada will see one last warm and sunny stretch before winter weather returns this weekend. Friday’s temperatures in Reno will climb to 65°F under mostly sunny skies, but rain and snow are expected by Sunday night.
According to the National Weather Service, Thursday and Friday will bring mild conditions, with highs reaching 66°F and 65°F, respectively. Light southeast winds up to 10 mph are expected Friday morning, making for a comfortable end to the workweek. However, a significant shift arrives Saturday night, with snow levels dropping to 5,900 feet and precipitation moving in.
Saturday will remain pleasant, with a high near 68°F and light southwest winds. By nightfall, a slight chance of rain and snow showers develops, increasing into Sunday morning. Snow levels will fall to 4,600 feet, with a chance of snow showers continuing throughout the day. Highs will struggle to reach 50°F.
Sunday night into Monday brings more unsettled weather, with snow levels dropping to 5,000 feet by Wednesday. Travelers on I-80 and surrounding mountain passes should prepare for possible snow impacts early next week.
