LAS VEGAS, Nev. — A modest warming trend is expected across southern Nevada during the Valentine’s Day weekend and into late February, while colder conditions and periodic snow chances persist across northern and mountainous portions of the state from Feb. 14 through Feb. 20.
In Las Vegas and the lower Colorado River Valley, daytime highs are expected to reach the upper 50s to low 60s, with overnight lows falling into the upper 30s and low 40s. While most of the period is expected to remain dry, occasional weak disturbances could bring brief rain showers, particularly during the early part of the forecast window.
Northern Nevada will experience a much different pattern. In Reno and surrounding valleys, daytime highs are forecast to remain in the upper 30s to low 40s, with nighttime temperatures dropping into the 20s. Periods of snow are possible, especially as colder air lingers over the region. Accumulations are expected to remain light overall but could impact travel during overnight and early morning hours.
The Sierra Nevada and higher elevations across central Nevada will continue to see the highest snow potential. Snow showers may redevelop at times, with fluctuating snow levels depending on the strength of incoming systems. Mountain travel could be affected intermittently throughout the period.
Winds are expected to remain generally light, though brief gusty conditions may accompany passing weather systems. No major storm systems are currently indicated, but the overall pattern favors continued variability.
Forecasters indicate no sustained warming trend for northern Nevada, suggesting winter conditions will remain in place as February progresses.
