Las Vegas, Nev. – Monsoon storms could drench parts of Southern Nevada on Friday, bringing a threat of flash flooding and gusty winds to Lincoln County and high terrain areas of Clark County.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely through Friday evening, with the highest rain chances over central Lincoln County (up to 62%) and around the Spring Mountains west of Las Vegas. The main hazards include fast-moving downpours, localized flooding, and strong outflow winds.
Travel along U.S. 93, Nevada Route 375, and remote desert roads may be impacted by poor visibility or water-covered pavement. Urban areas in the Las Vegas Valley face lower precipitation odds but could still see isolated storms and brief power outages. Rural areas near Mesquite and Caliente are also under moderate storm threat.
Storm activity is expected to diminish significantly on Saturday, with rain chances dropping below 20% across most of the region. The greatest risk for lingering precipitation remains in elevated terrain within Lincoln and Mohave Counties.
Residents are advised to avoid flooded roads, secure loose outdoor items, and check weather alerts through the weekend.
