Las Vegas, Nevada – Winds across southern Nevada are ramping up fast, with gusts expected to hit 55 mph through late Tuesday night, raising dust and toppling unsecured items throughout the Las Vegas Valley.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, a Wind Advisory remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Tuesday, covering Clark County and surrounding areas including Henderson, Mesquite, and Boulder City. Peak wind gusts will sweep through the region during the afternoon and early evening, with sustained southwest winds between 25 and 35 mph.
Drivers along I-15 and US-95 should be alert for sudden gusts and reduced visibility due to blowing dust, particularly near open desert areas. Tree limbs may fall, and scattered power outages are possible. High-profile vehicles like trucks and RVs should delay travel until winds subside. Residents are urged to secure patio furniture, loose tarps, and trash bins to prevent property damage.
Tuesday’s high temperature will reach around 91°F, but conditions will turn breezy and cooler by evening. Winds will taper off after midnight, leading into calmer, sunny weather for the rest of the week.
