The National Weather Service in Reno has forecasted cooler temperatures and breezy conditions, with overnight lows approaching the freezing point in some areas, particularly in the mountains.

According to the National Weather Service, mountain sites could see temperatures dipping as low as 33°F by Friday morning. Valley locations will remain somewhat warmer, with overnight lows ranging from the mid to high 50s. These chilly overnight temperatures will be accompanied by cooler afternoon highs, which are expected to trend near seasonal normals throughout the weekend, ranging from the mid-80s during the day to mid-50s at night.

Friday’s forecast indicates a high of 88°F, with temperatures continuing to hover around the mid-80s on Saturday and Sunday. The cooler trend is anticipated to persist through the weekend, bringing a respite from the recent heat. However, residents in higher elevations should be cautious of the near-freezing temperatures during the early morning hours, particularly on Friday.
