Las Vegas, Nevada – Temperatures in Las Vegas are climbing fast, with a blast of dry desert heat pushing highs to 98°F by Saturday afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will mark the beginning of a spring-to-summer shift, as clear skies and minimal wind allow highs to reach 95°F across the Las Vegas Valley. By Saturday, the temperature will peak near 98°F, with sunny skies dominating and only light breezes from the south providing minimal relief. Drivers on I-15 and US-95 should be cautious, especially during midday hours when pavement temperatures spike.

Mother’s Day on Sunday brings slightly cooler air, though still warm, with a high near 89°F and gusty breezes likely by afternoon. Winds could impact outdoor celebrations and travel, particularly east of Paradise and near Sunrise Manor.

Overnight lows will hover in the low 70s through Sunday, offering little overnight cooling for those without air conditioning. Residents should limit strenuous outdoor activity between noon and 4 p.m., stay hydrated, and monitor vulnerable individuals.

Looking ahead, the heat eases slightly into early next week. Monday and Tuesday will see highs in the upper 80s to low 90s, with breezy afternoons expected both days. Winds could again reach 15 mph by Monday evening, especially along exposed corridors like Charleston Boulevard and Summerlin Parkway.
