Las Vegas, Nevada – Triple-digit heat grips southern Nevada again Friday as temperatures in Las Vegas soar to 109°F ahead of Father’s Day weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday’s high of 109°F marks the hottest temperature so far this June. Winds from the south will reach 16 mph, with gusts up to 25 mph adding to fire danger. The heat index is expected to hover near 110°F. No official heat alert has been issued yet, but residents should take precautions now.

Stay hydrated, avoid direct sun between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m., and limit strenuous outdoor activities. Drivers along Interstate 15 and Highway 95 should watch for heat-related vehicle strain, especially during peak afternoon hours.

Friday night offers little relief, with lows only dipping to 78°F. By Saturday, the high climbs to 108°F, followed by a blistering 109°F on Sunday, the hottest day in the upcoming stretch. The risk of heat illness increases, particularly for children, seniors, and outdoor workers.

Sunday night stays mild and mostly clear with a low near 80°F. Monday and Tuesday continue the pattern, with highs of 106°F and 107°F. No storms or clouds are expected to cool the region before midweek.

Warnings remain possible through early next week if trends persist. Check back for updates.
