Las Vegas, Nevada – Nevada’s summer heat takes a sharp turn Monday, July 28, as Las Vegas braces for soaring highs of 105°F by mid-afternoon. Residents and visitors should avoid prolonged outdoor exposure and prepare for gusty winds, especially near US-95 and I-15.

According to the National Weather Service, Monday’s temps will rise quickly after 9 a.m., peaking around 4 p.m. Winds will shift southeast at 5–9 mph, with gusts possibly reaching 18 mph in exposed areas. Monday night brings slight relief with lows around 81°F, but overnight cooling will be limited due to calm winds and clear skies.

Outdoor workers, travelers, and vulnerable populations should take extra precautions. Stay inside during peak hours, drink plenty of water, and check your car’s cooling systems if traveling. Emergency officials also urge limiting strenuous activity and keeping pets indoors during the heat wave.

The heat wave persists through midweek, with Tuesday reaching a blazing 107°F before tapering slightly to 105°F on Wednesday and Thursday. Overnight lows will hover near 80°F through the week, offering little overnight relief.
