Las Vegas, Nevada – Heat builds fast across Southern Nevada this week, with Las Vegas pushing toward triple-digit highs by Thursday and possible impacts for those commuting along I-15 and I-515.
According to the National Weather Service, highs in Las Vegas will climb steadily from 86°F Monday to a blistering 100°F by Thursday. Tuesday will bring a noticeable warmup, with sunshine and a high near 93°F. Wednesday and Thursday both top out in the upper 90s, pushing public safety agencies to remind residents to limit time outdoors, especially during peak afternoon hours.
Expect calm morning winds to shift slightly from the southeast Tuesday, rising to about 8 mph by midday. With clear skies and minimal wind, the valley’s heat will intensify fast. By Wednesday, highs near 98°F combined with low humidity could increase fire weather concerns in surrounding areas.
Drivers should plan for heat-induced delays on key roadways like I-15, I-215, and Desert Inn Road, especially for vehicles at risk of overheating. Hydration and light-colored clothing are key if you’re working outdoors between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.
Looking ahead, the heat holds through Saturday, with high temps sticking in the 97–100°F range and overnight lows hovering near 70°F. The extended five-day forecast shows no rain relief and continued sun, with Friday and Saturday both reaching 98°F.
Weather alerts remain possible later in the week if temperatures push beyond expected highs. Keep an eye on updates from the National Weather Service as summer-like conditions grip Southern Nevada.
