Las Vegas, Nevada – Scorching summer heat grips southern Nevada today with highs near 106°F, but relief—and potential storms—are on the horizon starting Monday night.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, an Extreme Heat Warning remains in effect until 11 PM PDT Saturday for Clark County and surrounding areas. Dangerously high temperatures could lead to heat-related illnesses, especially for those without access to cooling. Officials urge residents to stay indoors, hydrate, and never leave children or pets in vehicles.
Temperatures will peak between 103°F and 109°F across the Las Vegas Valley, including Henderson, Pahrump, and Moapa. Death Valley could exceed 115°F. Travelers on U.S. Highway 95 and I-15 should use caution and delay non-essential trips until after sunset.
Sunday brings slightly cooler temps, with highs in the upper 90s under mostly cloudy skies. Winds could gust to 25 mph by afternoon, offering some brief relief. Thunderstorms are possible after 11 PM Sunday, especially west of Las Vegas.

- Monday: High of 92°F with a 30% chance of showers and thunderstorms by nightfall.
