Las Vegas, NV – Blistering heat will grip southern Nevada beginning Tuesday, bringing hazy skies and dangerous temperatures that could top 110°F by the weekend.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, widespread haze will move in Tuesday morning, followed by a high of 96°F and dry, breezy conditions. Winds from the south could gust up to 10 mph, increasing wildfire concerns and reducing visibility near U.S. Route 95 and Interstate 15.
Heat intensifies Wednesday, with clear skies and a high near 101°F. By Thursday, daytime highs climb to 105°F, then peak near 107°F Friday and a scorching 110°F by Sunday. Overnight lows stay unusually warm—barely dipping below 80°F—offering little relief.
Residents should avoid strenuous outdoor activities after 10 a.m., stay hydrated, and check on neighbors vulnerable to heat-related illness. Utility customers are urged to conserve energy during peak afternoon hours. Cooling centers across Clark County may be activated if highs exceed 105°F for multiple days.
This prolonged heat stretch is typical of late June but remains dangerous. Power grids may experience high demand, and health risks rise quickly without shade or air conditioning.
Warnings remain in effect through Sunday. The next update is expected Wednesday morning.
