Las Vegas, Nevada – Nevada is expected to close out January and begin February under a warm and largely dry weather pattern, with above-average temperatures dominating statewide and little to no precipitation expected.

According to the National Weather Service Climate Prediction Center, the Jan. 24–Feb. 6 outlook favors above-normal temperatures across much of the Great Basin, including Nevada, while precipitation probabilities trend below normal. A persistent ridge of high pressure is expected to keep storm systems displaced well to the north, limiting rain and snow opportunities.

Southern Nevada, including Las Vegas, Henderson, and Pahrump, is expected to see daytime highs running several degrees above seasonal averages, with dry skies and mild afternoons. Overnight lows will still cool efficiently in desert areas, but no significant cold snaps are anticipated. Travel conditions across I-15 and U.S. 95 are expected to remain favorable.

Northern Nevada, including Reno, Carson City, and Elko, will also trend milder than normal, with reduced chances for valley rain or mountain snow. Sierra snow chances remain limited during this period, which may slow short-term snowpack gains.

The primary impacts statewide will be tied to continued dry conditions, including increased fire weather awareness in normally dry areas and limited moisture recharge. Residents and outdoor recreation interests should remain mindful of dry fuels, especially during breezy periods.

Above-average temperatures are expected to persist into early February. While the pattern remains quiet for now, updated outlooks may follow if storm systems begin to shift back toward the West later in the month.
