Las Vegas, Nevada – A dangerous stretch of 105°F heat locks in across Southern Nevada starting Wednesday, July 30, with triple-digit highs expected to persist through the weekend. Residents along the I-15 corridor and across Clark County should prepare for extended exposure risks, especially during afternoon peak hours.

According to the National Weather Service, Las Vegas will reach 105°F by early afternoon Wednesday, with southwest winds up to 14 mph and gusts near 20 mph. The humidity remains low, but the heat index may still pose a risk to sensitive groups, especially children, older adults, and outdoor workers. Skies will remain clear into the evening, offering no relief from the sustained heat.

Starting Wednesday, the metro area will face at least five consecutive days of intense sunshine and extreme warmth, with daily highs topping 103°F through Monday. Overnight lows dip only into the upper 70s, offering little nighttime cooling. Hydration, limited outdoor activity, and sun protection are essential through the weekend.

Visitors and residents are urged to avoid peak travel or errands from 1–6 p.m., especially on high-exposure areas like Las Vegas Blvd and I-215. Cooling centers remain open across the Valley.
