LAS VEGAS — Make holiday wishes come true by adopting a letter and sending a gift.

Each year, the United States Postal Service holds a holiday initiative that invites individuals and families to adopt letters written to Santa and purchase gifts for children and families across the country. Now in its 113th year, Operation Santa brings festive cheer to families in need.

“Every year, we receive far more letters than those adopting. So if you have the means, we encourage you to adopt a letter,” said Sheila Holman, the Postal Service’s vice president of marketing.

The initiative started on Nov. 17, 2025, and the last day to ship gifts is Dec. 13, 2025. To participate, you’ll need to head to USPSOperationSanta.com to create an account and verify your identity. You can then browse through letters from across the country and adopt the letter you want. Purchase a gift through USPS’s Santa’s Workshop or on your own. The gift will be shipped via USPS.

“You can adopt single or family letters as a team, shop for the perfect gift quickly and easily online, and get it delivered directly from Santa’s Gift Shoppe, all from the comfort and convenience of home.” Said Holman. “The best part is, the earlier you adopt, the sooner you can help make somebody’s holiday wish come true.”

To protect the privacy of participants online, personal details have been removed from letters posted on the USPS Operation Santa® website.
