LAS VEGAS — Every year, Clark County, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police and NDOT release New Year’s Eve road-closure maps to help residents and visitors prepare for the massive crowds.

The Las Vegas Strip comes alive each New Year’s Eve drawing in thousands of party-goers wishing to ring in the new year in the glitzy city. Each year, city officials release road-closure plans that party-goers need to be aware of.

While official maps are usually released in late December, several closures occur annually and are expected again for 2025. Typically the I-15 off-ramps at Flamingo Road and Tropicana Avenue are closed in both directions from 5:30 p.m.

There are also road closures on the Las Vegas Boulevard from Spring Mountain Road from 6:30 p.m. and the entire Strip will be closed to all vehicles from 8 p.m. to allow pedestrians into the area. Roads and off-ramps are usually reopened on New Year’s Day by 6 a.m.

The Las Vegas Monorail will run continuously on New Year’s Eve along the Strip making it a good option for partygoers. Given the widespread road closures, officials recommend arriving before 5 p.m. to avoid major congestion.
