Las Vegas, Nev. – Tourists and locals in Las Vegas should brace for dangerous heat as Sunday’s high surges to 111°F, marking the start of a multi-day heatwave across Southern Nevada.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, temperatures will climb sharply beginning Sunday, July 13, with highs reaching 111°F and overnight lows staying near 86°F. The heat intensifies Monday with a peak near 113°F, continuing through at least Thursday. A summer weather alert remains in effect for the Las Vegas Valley, with the NWS urging people to limit outdoor exposure between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.

Expect the following heat conditions:

  • Sunday (July 13): Sunny and hot. High of 111°F with calm morning winds shifting southeast 5 to 8 mph by afternoon.
  • Monday: Even hotter with a high near 113°F and clear skies — likely the hottest day of the week.
  • Tuesday and Wednesday: Highs hover around 109°F and 108°F, with mostly clear nights and lows in the low 80s.
  • Thursday: Slight dip to 104°F but still dangerously hot. Lows around 82°F continue to offer little overnight relief.

Those traveling along I-15, Tropicana Ave, and Paradise Road should carry water, avoid car idling, and monitor engine temperatures. Vulnerable populations, including the elderly and outdoor workers, are urged to seek shade, hydrate often, and check on neighbors.

This summer heat wave could lead to extended excessive heat warnings. Stay tuned to the NWS for updates and heat-related advisories through midweek.
