Las Vegas, NV – Scorching summer heat will bear down on southern Nevada starting Friday, with Las Vegas expected to hit 105°F or higher daily through July 1. The hottest stretch peaks Sunday with a forecast high of 108°F — among the highest of the season so far.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, clear skies and light winds will combine with extreme heat from Friday through at least Wednesday. Saturday and Sunday will be especially brutal, with highs of 106°F and 108°F respectively. Overnight lows won’t offer much relief, hovering in the low 80s throughout the period.
Drivers on Interstate 15 and US 95 should carry water and avoid vehicle breakdowns during peak heat between noon and 6 p.m. Outdoor workers and hikers are urged to plan activities for early morning or postpone until evening. Anyone spending time outdoors should wear light clothing, apply sunscreen, and stay hydrated.
With clear skies and rising temps, this weekend marks the most intense heat since early June. There are no official Excessive Heat Warnings yet, but conditions are trending close. Residents should monitor for updates and check on elderly neighbors.
Relief is not expected before midweek. Las Vegas will remain above 100°F daily, with Monday and Tuesday forecast at 110°F.
