Reno, NV – A mix of snow, rain, and gusty winds will impact Reno and Northern Nevada this weekend, making travel difficult in some areas. Temperatures will fluctuate, with snow levels lowering to 4,600 feet by Monday, increasing the chances of wintery road conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, Friday will bring snow showers mainly before 2 p.m., with gusty southwest winds up to 30 mph. While snowfall will be minimal, slick roads and reduced visibility may affect drivers, particularly along I-80.

On Saturday, partly sunny skies will push temperatures to a high of 49°F, though winds will continue to gust up to 25 mph. Conditions will shift Sunday night as a stronger system moves in, bringing rain to lower elevations and snow above 6,600 feet. By Monday, colder air will push snow levels down, leading to potential accumulation in the foothills.

Motorists should prepare for changing road conditions, especially on mountain passes. Those traveling through the Sierra or high-altitude areas should carry chains and check for updates from the Nevada Department of Transportation.

Looking ahead, Tuesday will bring a break with sunny skies and a high of 45°F, but another storm could arrive midweek with rain and snow returning by Wednesday night.

Stay updated with local forecasts and drive cautiously as spring weather patterns remain unpredictable.
