LAS VEGAS — Pet licenses are renewed annually and are typically tied to rabies vaccination status. Residents with unlicensed pets may face fines or compliance notices.

Every year, pet owners within the City of Las Vegas must apply for a pet license with Pet Data. According to regulations, all dogs, cats, and ferrets over 4 months old must be licensed within 30 days of being obtained. Licenses must be renewed within 30 days of their current expiration date. Late renewals will attract a $5 fee.

Annual license fees:

  • Standard fee for unaltered animal – $25
  • Spayed/neutered animal – $10
  • Unaltered animal owned by a senior (65+) or person with a disability – $15
  • Spayed or neutered animal owned by a senior (65+) or person with a disability – $5
  • Replacement tag – $5

In addition to a pet license, animal owners must vaccinate their animals against rabies. All vaccinated animals over three months of age must wear a collar with the current rabies vaccination tag. When applying for a pet license, owners must present proof of current rabies vaccination.

Non-compliance with mandatory vaccination in Clark County can result in fines up to $500 issued by Animal Protection Services. To report non-compliance or animal bites involving humans within 48 hours, residents should call (702) 455-7710.
