LAS VEGAS – The city has secured its status as the rodeo capital with a long-term agreement to host the National Finals Rodeo (NFR).

Since 1985, Las Vegas has been home to the National Finals Rodeo, and now the event is guaranteed to stay through 2035. Last year, the NFR extended its agreement to remain in the city and pay more than $ 264 million to its competitors and stock contractor. For 2025, the prize money has surpassed $17.5 million.

Often referred to as the Super Bowl of rodeo, the NFR is the richest and most prestigious rodeo in the world. Its extended run in Las Vegas is expected to provide a much-needed boost to tourism.. This year, tourism in Sin City has been at an all-time low. According to figures from the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), the city experienced a 12% decline in visitors compared to the same period last year. The draw of the exclusive rodeo event is set to bring in thousands of visitors to the city.

In 2024, the NFR recorded a total attendance of 170,045 at the Thomas & Mack Center, setting a new record. The accompanying Cowboy Christmas event also attracted more than 310,000 attendees. These surging numbers are fueled by bigger payouts, expanding broadcast coverage, and major sponsorship deals.

This year’s NFR will showcase the best in bareback riding, steer wrestling, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing, and bull riding from December 4–13 at the Thomas & Mack Center. Tickets start at $75.
