Las Vegas, Nevada – Triple-digit heat will grip southern Nevada through the weekend, with temperatures soaring as high as 112°F in Laughlin and 109°F in Las Vegas by Saturday, while gusty southwesterly breezes stir up dusty afternoons.

According to the National Weather Service Las Vegas, a weather system pushing through central California and Nevada could trigger isolated thunderstorms near the Sierra Crest and Esmeralda County mountains Thursday and Friday. Elsewhere, the region will remain hot, dry, and breezy, with elevated fire danger.

Barstow and Kingman will also remain in the triple digits, topping out near 104°F to 106°F by Friday, while Bishop holds slightly cooler in the mid-90s. Residents should limit outdoor activities during peak heat hours and stay hydrated. Gusty winds may impact high-profile vehicles along I-15 and U.S. 95, especially during the afternoon.

The weather pattern is expected to hold steady into early next week. No widespread rain is forecast, but officials remind residents in higher elevations to remain alert for lightning and sudden storm development.

More updates are expected as the system moves east. Dry conditions and elevated heat will likely persist into next week.
