Las Vegas, Nevada – Dangerous heat is blanketing the Las Vegas Valley this week, with high temperatures expected to top 110°F by Wednesday and persist through Saturday. Residents and visitors should take immediate precautions to avoid heat-related illness, as the prolonged stretch of triple-digit weather brings heightened risk for vulnerable populations.

According to the National Weather Service, daily highs will soar to 108°F Tuesday, climb to 110°F Wednesday, and remain near 109°F through the weekend. Overnight lows will only dip into the mid-80s, offering little relief from the heat. Clark County officials warn that excessive heat can strain power grids, increase wildfire danger, and put pressure on emergency services.

Paradise, North Las Vegas, and Henderson will all see similar conditions, with schools and outdoor workers urged to limit activity during peak afternoon hours. Hydration, checking on elderly neighbors, and avoiding outdoor exercise after 10 a.m. are strongly advised. NV Energy recommends setting thermostats to 78°F and charging devices in advance to prepare for possible power outages.

This week’s heatwave is among the hottest of the season, rivaling records set in July 2021. Residents should anticipate potential extended advisories if the pattern persists.
