Las Vegas, Nevada – The Las Vegas Valley is entering a dangerous stretch of extreme heat, with highs soaring to 107°F on Sunday and climbing to a blistering 109°F by Thursday, creating elevated risks for heat illness and power strain across Southern Nevada.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, temperatures will remain in the triple digits each day through at least Thursday, with overnight lows barely dipping below 80°F. Light to moderate winds are expected, with gusts reaching up to 23 mph on Friday, adding a layer of discomfort to already scorching conditions.

Clark County residents—including those in Las Vegas, Paradise, and Henderson—should limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon hours and stay hydrated. Vulnerable populations, including the elderly and outdoor workers, are at heightened risk. Local cooling centers may open if temperatures persist above 105°F.

With little cloud cover and no rain in sight, the persistent high heat poses elevated wildfire danger and may strain regional energy grids. This marks one of the hottest stretches of the summer so far, with highs remaining well above seasonal norms.

Extreme heat advisories may be issued if this pattern continues. Residents are urged to monitor updates and practice heat safety daily.
