Las Vegas, NV – A man wanted in Nevada for probation violations has been taken into custody following a coordinated fugitive investigation, authorities said.

According to the Nevada State Police, Khalifa Sikes was arrested on November 25 in Las Vegas by the Nevada State Police, Division of Parole and Probation, and the U.S. Marshals Service. The arrest marks the end of a months-long search led by the Nevada Violent Offender Fugitive Task Force, which began its investigation in August.

Sikes was previously convicted in 2019 on charges including pandering a juvenile and possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell. He was given suspended prison sentences of up to 36 months and placed on probation, but absconded supervision in October 2019. Authorities allege that Sikes posed a significant danger to the public and continued to engage in criminal activity while on the run.

Investigators located Sikes in Las Vegas, where they allegedly found marijuana, a loaded handgun, and an AR-15-style rifle with obliterated serial numbers. Additional ammunition and loaded magazines were reportedly recovered from his vehicle.

U.S. Marshal Gary Schofield praised the collaborative effort, stating the arrest “reflects our unwavering commitment to protect the public from dangerous offenders.”

The U.S. Marshals Service emphasized that the case demonstrated the strength of multi-agency cooperation involving state, local, and federal law enforcement partners.
