Las Vegas, Nevada – Dangerously high heat returns to southern Nevada on Tuesday, July 29th, with Las Vegas forecast to hit 107°F by mid-afternoon — the hottest day in nearly two weeks. The National Weather Service warns of prolonged exposure risks across Clark County, especially along U.S. Highway 95 and Interstate 15.

According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, a ridge of high pressure will dominate the region starting Tuesday, bringing highs between 105°F and 107°F through at least Sunday. Winds will remain light, offering little relief. Overnight temperatures will barely fall below 80°F, increasing overnight heat stress.

City infrastructure and power grids could be strained during peak usage hours. Locals should limit outdoor activity from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m., hydrate frequently, and use indoor cooling zones. Vulnerable populations — including the elderly and unhoused — remain at elevated risk.

Looking Ahead:
The extreme heat continues through Friday, with daily highs near 105°F and no rain in sight. Saturday and Sunday offer no break, with weekend temperatures also locked near 105°F and lows stubbornly holding around 79°F.

Expect similar conditions into early next week, as the high-pressure system persists. No major monsoon activity is expected through August 3rd.
