Las Vegas, NV – A Flood Watch has been issued across parts of Nevada, Arizona, and California as tropical moisture from Tropical Storm Priscilla moves into the region. The National Weather Service in Las Vegas announced Thursday that Lincoln County has been added to the watch, which also includes Mohave County, Arizona, and southeastern San Bernardino County, California.
According to the NWS, the watch is in effect from 11 a.m. Thursday through 11 p.m. Saturday, with multiple rounds of showers and thunderstorms expected during that period. Rain chances will peak Thursday evening and continue into Friday, with precipitation probabilities as high as 85% near Mesquite and 78% in Kingman.
Forecasters warn that heavy rainfall may lead to flash flooding, roadway rockslides, and travel disruptions, especially in low-lying and desert wash areas. Dangerous lightning is also possible, and residents are urged to avoid driving through flooded roads.
The weather system is being fueled by deep tropical moisture from Tropical Storm Priscilla, bringing unstable conditions and the potential for isolated severe storms. Travelers along I-15 and Highway 93 are advised to check forecasts frequently and have multiple ways to receive weather alerts.
