LAS VEGAS — Clark County families are awaiting notification for the Clark County School District’s magnet school lottery for the upcoming school year.

Applications for the 2026–27 school year opened in October and are available until Jan. 13, 2026, at 3 p.m. Typically, the lottery results are sent out via email and text message on the first Monday in March. Parents and guardians can also log into the CCSD School Choice application platform to see their child’s application status.

The district reserves up to 25% of the seats in a magnet program for students who apply to a magnet school and are eligible for a preference. To be considered for preference, students must apply before the deadline and meet the magnet school program qualifications, which often favor high GPAs.

Students who are accepted by more than one choice school will only be allowed to accept one invitation. Due to the high number of applicants and limited space, some students might not be selected in the random lottery. When this happens, students have a few options available. Students who are not selected will remain enrolled at their current zoned school but may be placed on a waitlist for their chosen magnet program. The CCSD will notify parents and guardians of the student’s status.
