Las Vegas, NV – A powerful winter storm is set to bring heavy snowfall and strong winds to the higher elevations of California’s Eastern Sierra and Nevada’s Spring Mountains. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Storm Warning from 10 p.m. Wednesday to 4 p.m. Friday, with significant snowfall expected.
According to the National Weather Service in Las Vegas, elevations above 7,000 feet could see 2 to 4 feet of snow in the Eastern Sierra and White Mountains, while 12 to 24 inches are forecast for the Spring Mountains and Sheep Range. Peak gusts could reach 60 mph along the Sierra crest and 50 mph in the Spring Mountains, increasing the risk of tree damage and hazardous travel.
