Hastings, NE – Seasonably warm weather will dominate Nebraska this weekend, with highs climbing into the low 60s on Saturday. Cooler air, however, will arrive Monday, bringing highs back to the 40s.
According to the National Weather Service, today’s clear skies and a high of 52°F will give way to even warmer conditions Saturday, with a sunny high near 60°F. Winds will stay light at 5 to 10 mph. Sunday will remain warm and sunny, though temperatures will start to taper, reaching a high of 56°F before a cold front moves through the area.
The front will arrive late Sunday night, shifting winds to the northwest and dropping Monday’s high to 46°F. By Tuesday, highs will struggle to reach the upper 30s, marking a return to more typical December weather for Nebraska.
Residents should prepare for changing conditions, especially by Monday, when wind gusts up to 25 mph may make temperatures feel even colder. Travelers planning trips early next week should monitor forecasts for potential impacts.
Looking ahead, temperatures will rebound slightly midweek, with mostly sunny skies and highs near 41°F on Wednesday and 44°F on Thursday.
Be sure to enjoy the warm weather this weekend, but keep an eye on the forecast as cooler conditions set in next week.
