Nebraska – Hastings residents can look forward to mild and mostly sunny weather this weekend, but rain and cooler temperatures are on the way by Monday. Highs are expected to reach the low to mid-60s Friday and Saturday, making it an ideal time to enjoy outdoor activities. However, forecasters caution that conditions will shift significantly by early next week.

According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, Friday will see high temperatures around 62 degrees, with light southeasterly winds picking up to 10-15 mph and gusts reaching 30 mph. Saturday will remain sunny with similar highs, while Sunday will see a slight dip into the 50s as clouds begin to move in. Winds on Sunday could gust up to 25 mph, bringing a breezy close to the weekend.

The most notable change arrives Monday, when widespread rain is forecasted throughout the day. Rain chances are high at 90%, with the heaviest precipitation expected over eastern portions of the Hastings area. Highs on Monday are anticipated in the upper 40s to upper 50s. Motorists should be prepared for slick roads, especially along main routes near Hastings, including U.S. Highway 6 and U.S. Highway 281.

Looking further into the week, Monday night will bring scattered showers, with temperatures dropping to the upper 30s. By Tuesday, conditions should dry out with mostly sunny skies and highs around 47 degrees, offering some respite after a damp start to the week. However, slight chances of snow showers are possible mid-week, though no major accumulation is expected.

Residents are advised to secure outdoor belongings this weekend due to gusty winds and to plan for potential travel disruptions on Monday. Stay updated with the latest forecasts to prepare for changing weather patterns.
