According to the National Weather Service, storms are likely to begin after midnight Tuesday and intensify into Wednesday morning. Rainfall totals may reach between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch, with locally higher amounts possible in thunderstorms. Drivers along U.S. Highway 6 and other low-lying roads should prepare for ponding water and reduced visibility before sunrise.
By Wednesday afternoon, a second round of scattered storms may develop, especially after 1 p.m., under partly sunny skies with a high near 78°F. Wind gusts could reach up to 20 mph. Localized flash flooding remains a concern where storms track repeatedly.
Wednesday night remains stormy, with likely showers and a chance of thunderstorms into the evening. North winds will continue at 10 mph as temperatures dip to 58°F.
Thursday offers a brief break with just a 20% chance of showers in the morning and a cooler high near 74°F. But another rain chance returns Friday, followed by hot and humid conditions into the weekend.
