According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, skies will stay mostly clear through Monday with only a slight chance of sprinkles late Saturday in the eastern part of the state. Highs will range from 80° to 85°F on Saturday, climbing to the low 90s by Sunday and Monday. Winds remain light and variable Saturday, increasing to 10–15 mph out of the south into early next week.
Cities across central and southern Nebraska, including Grand Island, Kearney, and Hastings, will see the hottest temperatures on Tuesday, when highs could hit 97°F. A more active weather pattern will arrive by Tuesday afternoon, bringing increased chances for thunderstorms and a shift toward cooler conditions by midweek. Wednesday’s highs are expected to dip into the low 80s.
Residents should limit outdoor activity during peak afternoon heat, stay hydrated, and prepare for changing weather conditions starting Tuesday.
