Omaha, NE – Unseasonably warm weather continues Wednesday, with highs in the upper 40s to mid-50s. However, breezy westerly winds and low humidity will create very high fire danger in northeast Nebraska. Residents are urged to avoid outdoor burning and stay aware of rapidly changing conditions.

According to the National Weather Service, winds will gust up to 20 mph Wednesday afternoon, increasing fire risks across the region. A cold front arrives late Thursday, bringing a 60% chance of rain overnight and cooling temperatures to the mid-40s by Friday.

Wednesday will stay mostly sunny, with mild conditions persisting into Thursday before showers develop in the evening. Rain will taper off early Friday, with highs in the mid-40s and breezy conditions lingering. The weekend looks seasonable, with partly sunny skies and highs in the upper 40s to mid-50s.

Residents should remain cautious of fire hazards through midweek and prepare for wet conditions later this week. For the latest updates, visit the National Weather Service or local emergency management websites.
