Omaha, NE – Summerlike warmth will give way to stormy fall weather as showers and thunderstorms push into eastern Nebraska late Sunday into Monday. A breezy and sunny Saturday with highs in the upper 80s will be the last stretch of calm before conditions turn unsettled.

According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, gusty south winds up to 32 mph will persist Saturday before moisture surges in from the south. A 20 percent chance of storms develops Sunday afternoon, increasing to 60 percent overnight. The highest likelihood of rain and thunderstorms arrives Monday, with showers lingering into Monday night.

The agency cautions drivers along I-80 and I-29 to expect wet roads, reduced visibility, and possible delays early in the workweek. Power outages and downed limbs are possible in stronger cells, though widespread severe weather is not currently expected. By Tuesday, drier conditions return, though a few lingering showers remain possible before skies clear by midweek.

Officials advise residents to prepare for changing conditions by securing outdoor items this weekend and charging devices before storms arrive. Those with travel or outdoor plans Sunday evening into Monday should monitor updates, as timing of storms could shift. Temperatures will fall from near 90 this weekend into the mid-60s Monday, signaling a firm return of fall weather.
