According to the National Weather Service, Tuesday will bring mostly sunny skies and dry conditions, with highs ranging from 80 to 88 degrees and light north winds at 5 to 15 mph. The weather pattern will shift by Wednesday as southerly winds increase to 10 to 15 mph, gusting between 20 and 30 mph, making for breezier conditions. Highs Wednesday are expected to reach between 84 and 92 degrees.
Thursday will see even warmer temperatures, climbing into the upper 80s to upper 90s. Breezy southerly winds will continue, gusting 20 to 25 mph, as morning lows hold in the mid to upper 60s. The forecast calls for sunny skies throughout the midweek period, providing ideal conditions for outdoor activities, though residents are advised to take precautions during the warmer afternoon hours.
With gusty winds midweek and rising temperatures, the NWS also reminds the public to stay hydrated, limit strenuous outdoor work during peak heat, and remain alert to shifting weather conditions. While no additional rainfall is currently forecast through Thursday, the warmer and drier air may impact crops and soil moisture across the region.
Weather updates will continue to be monitored closely as Nebraska approaches what could be one of the hottest stretches of August so far.
