Omaha, NE – Residents in the Omaha area should prepare for fluctuating weather this week, with light snow expected tonight followed by a significant warm-up heading into Thursday. Temperatures today will reach a high of 27°F, with increasing clouds as the day progresses.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS), there is a 20% to 30% chance of light snow tonight, starting after 9 p.m., with minimal accumulation of up to half an inch. Lows tonight will range from 2°F to 9°F, and wind chills could drop to dangerous levels. Residents should take precautions when heading outdoors and plan accordingly for slick road conditions on major highways such as I-80.

Tuesday will bring partly cloudy skies and colder temperatures, with highs peaking at 22°F. Winds will remain light, providing some relief from frigid conditions. A warm front is expected to move through by midweek, pushing highs on Wednesday into the upper 30s. By Thursday, Omaha could experience unseasonably mild temperatures in the mid-40s, offering a temporary reprieve from the cold snap.

However, forecasters caution that sharply colder air will return this weekend, with temperatures expected to plunge once again.

Stay updated with the latest weather forecasts and prepare for potential snow this evening. Drivers should monitor road conditions and allow extra time for commutes, especially during nighttime hours.
