Lincoln, NE – Nebraska will see warm and dry conditions to start the week, with temperatures reaching the 70s on Monday before cooling by Tuesday. A Fire Weather Watch has been issued from Noon to 8 PM Monday for much of south-central Nebraska due to gusty winds and low humidity.
According to the National Weather Service in Hastings, Sunday’s highs will reach the mid-to-upper 60s under sunny skies, with west winds at 10 mph. Overnight lows will dip into the lower-to-mid 30s. Monday’s temperatures will climb to 73-79°F, but strong west winds (10-20 mph, gusts up to 30 mph) will increase fire risks.
By Tuesday, cooler air moves in, bringing highs in the low 50s to low 60s with north winds at 10-15 mph, gusting to 20 mph. Dry conditions will persist, but skies will be partly cloudy.
Residents should remain alert to fire hazards Monday and prepare for a temperature drop by midweek.
