Omaha, NE – Residents across eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa are waking up to bitter cold this morning, with wind chills dipping into the single digits and teens, according to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley.
Overnight lows fell to the mid-20s, and northwesterly winds around 10 mph are keeping conditions brisk. Temperatures will remain near 37°F Monday afternoon before moderating later in the week.
The Hazardous Weather Outlook notes no additional hazards expected through the week but urges residents to bundle up during the morning hours. Frostbite risk remains low but possible for those exposed to the wind for extended periods early Monday.
Forecasters say conditions will rapidly improve beginning Tuesday, with sunny skies and highs in the 60s by Veterans Day. Warmer, dry weather is expected through midweek before a slight chance of rain returns next weekend.
