Beatrice, NE – A Winter Weather Advisory has been issued for southeast Nebraska from 3 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday, as snow is expected to blanket the region, bringing 2 to 4 inches of accumulation and hazardous travel conditions throughout the day.
According to the National Weather Service in Omaha/Valley, the advisory includes Jefferson, Gage, Johnson, Nemaha, Pawnee, and Richardson counties, covering communities such as Beatrice, Fairbury, Auburn, Tecumseh, and Falls City.
Forecasters warn that snow will begin before sunrise Monday and continue through the afternoon, potentially affecting both the morning and evening commutes. Roads are expected to become slick and snow-covered, especially along Highways 75, 77, and 136, with visibility reduced at times.
Motorists are urged to slow down, allow extra travel time, and use caution when driving. The National Weather Service advises checking 511.nebraska.gov or calling 511 for updated road conditions before heading out.
Snow is expected to taper off by Monday evening, with cold temperatures keeping roads icy overnight into Tuesday morning.
