According to the National Weather Service Storm Prediction Center, a Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect for Antelope, Blaine, Boyd, Brown, Cedar, Custer, Dixon, Garfield, Holt, Keith, Keya Paha, Knox, Lincoln, Logan, Loup, McPherson, Perkins, Pierce, Rock, Thomas, Wayne, and Wheeler counties through early morning. Officials warn of wind gusts over 60 mph and hail up to the size of quarters.
Residents in cities like O’Neill, Ord, and North Platte should secure outdoor items, charge mobile devices, and avoid travel during intense storms. Highway 20 and US-281 could see reduced visibility and scattered debris, especially near Cedar and Holt counties. Local emergency management teams urge people to monitor weather radios and be ready to move to shelter if warnings are issued.
